You guys know how much I love a single-serve dessert! Just like my banana mug cake, this single serve apple crisp is the perfect weeknight dessert. It’s great when I don’t feel like making a whole apple crisp!

I love baking this mini apple crisp in the oven, but you can even make it in the microwave if you want it even faster!

Why You’ll Love This Easy Apple Crisp for One

  • You only need one apple to make this single serving apple crisp!
  • This recipe can be made in the oven or in the microwave.
  • You only need a handful of simple pantry ingredients. I bet you already have everything you need!
  • This individual apple crisp is the perfect dessert for one!

Ingredients Needed

  • Flour: You can use all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, or gluten-free all-purpose flour.
  • Butter: Feel free to use regular butter or vegan butter if you’re dairy-free!
  • Apples: You can use your favorite type of apple. I love using crispier apples like honey crisp or gala apples.
  • Oats: I recommend using old fashioned oats. If you’re gluten-free, just make sure to use gluten-free oats.
  • Brown Sugar: You can swap out brown sugar for coconut sugar, but just note that it won’t be as sweet!

Step 5: Bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Step 6: If making in the microwave, microwave the apple crisp for 90 seconds or up to 2 ½ minutes. This depends on the strength of your microwave, so I recommend starting at the lower time and adding more time as needed.

Step 7: Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and enjoy!

Making this single serve apple crisp dairy-free, vegan, or gluten-free

What’s great about this recipe is that you can easily make it work if you have food allergies!

To make it vegan, just make sure to use vegan butter and top with vegan whipped cream. To make this apple crisp gluten-free, just use gluten-free all-purpose flour and gluten-free certified rolled oats. And to make it dairy-free, just be sure to use dairy-free butter!

Expert Tips

  • I recommend using a 10-oz ramekin for this apple crumble. If you use too small a ramekin, the filling and crumble won’t fit!
  • I love topping this with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, but you could also top it with whipped cream.
  • No need to peel the apples before chopping them up, but you can peel them if you prefer.

Storage Instructions

Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
