Welcome to Cookie Dough Diaries! I'm Gabby, and baking is my love language.

I've been dairy free my entire life. So naturally, I always figured I was just going to have to accept the fact that I would miss out on all the most delicious desserts (cupcakes? cheesecake? Anything with ice cream?!).
Cookies were just about the only thing I felt I could make dairy-free, so I became obsessed with baking cookies (and let's be honest, eating A LOT of cookie dough along the way).
Having food allergies meant I missed out on a lot of my favourite desserts. But one day something clicked and I decided that life is way too short to not be able to enjoy cheesecake and I needed to find a way to make desserts without dairy that actually tasted like the indulgent desserts I knew and loved. So, fast forward a little bit and Cookie Dough Diaries was born!
What You'll find at Cookie Dough Diaries
Dairy Free Desserts
I believe that desserts made without dairy can absolutely be just as good as desserts made with dairy. That being said, most of my recipes can be made using dairy products (eg: you can always swap out DF butter in these fudgy brownies with regular butter, DF condensed milk with regular, etc.) and they will still taste amazing.
I also believe baking doesn't have to be complicated. At CDD, you won't find recipes with a million steps, or techniques and kitchen tools you've never heard of. I'm completely self-taught, and if I can bake it, so can you!
Vegan Desserts
You'll also find some vegan treats sprinkled throughout the site (like this oreo chocolate cake or these peanut butter oatmeal cookies), and many of my recipes also include vegan options.

What you won't find at Cookie Dough Diaries
The majority of my recipes aren't what you'd traditionally call "healthy". I use white sugar, white flour, cookie butter, and other ingredients that probably don't fall under that category.
I truly believe that a balanced, healthy lifestyle can include some of the "not-so-healthy" desserts that we all love. Don't get me wrong, I love healthy treats too! But I don't think food needs to be labelled "good" or "bad".
Guilt isn't an ingredient
You will never see the words "guilt-free" here because guilt is not an ingredient. I hope that you can enjoy my recipes with zero guilt simply because guilt has no place among something as joyful as baking!
So, once again, welcome to my little dairy free slice of the internet! I hope you find something you love, and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or if you just want to chat about how awesome cookie dough is.
Happy Baking!
